Our Grossnickle Eye Surgery Center
Our modern, ambulatory surgery center is adjacent to our Warsaw office. This enables us to provide you with convenience, in addition to competent, personalized care when your eyes require surgical correction to improve your vision or repair trauma. Our Mishawaka office utilizes the Allied Physicians Surgery Center for our outpatient surgeries. For nonsurgical eye care, you may also visit our offices in Plymouth and Elkhart. Our innovative Dry Eye Center located within our Elkhart office is designed to diagnose and provide comprehensive treatment options for ocular surface diseases and conditions, such as dry eye.
AAAHC Accreditation for Our Surgery Center in Warsaw
Grossnickle Eye Center has again achieved the highest standard of accreditation for its Ambulatory Surgery Center in Warsaw by accomplishing a successful completion of its recent AAAHC survey this past July 2024.
The Grossnickle Eye Ambulatory Surgery Center has been committed to caring for patients’ eyes and their vision since 1987. Our surgery center was one of the first of its kind to open its doors in the state of Indiana and has been changing the way eye surgery has been performed for over 35 years.
At GEC we have strived to offer the best surgical care possible on a daily basis and also by meeting and exceeding the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) standards since that very first surgery day in 1987. AAAHC is a voluntary, peer-based, educational survey process with the objective of advancing patient care and safety in the ambulatory surgery setting.
AAAHC accredited facilities set themselves apart from other surgery facilities through their adherence to rigorous standards and education. Accreditation also proves success in achieving a high standard for the improvement of the patient care environment, as well as embracing new developments in the field of technology in the Ophthalmology specialty.
Core to the AAAHC mission and vision is the “1095 Strong, quality everyday philosophy”. 1095 Strong is a commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement, which demonstrates survey readiness not only on the day of the survey, but all 1,095 days of the accreditation term.
“Our staff work hard every day to give great patient care and create a safe environment for surgery”, states Diana Ostrom, R.N., Practice Administrator.
At GEC our mission has always been, and will continue to be, to provide the highest quality of service to all patients, both in our clinics and in our surgical settings.
